The Overview Effect is a transcendental state of awe that many people feel when immersed in natural settings much larger than ourselves, including mountains, oceans, and outer space. This awe has a humbling effect and helps us feel our connection to one another and the planet we call home.

Painted on reclaimed velvet, the hexagonal shapes in this series mimic the mirrors of the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST). The upper scenes reference JWST images while the lower scenes reference photos from my life. Together, they remind us to zoom out to better appreciate Earth and each other.
